Venice
 

reaching out to Venice
arms stretched across the water
i feel to merely know her
would be my journey’s end

her sparkling lights entice me
like the eyes of a mystery lover
who hovers in my deepest dreams
then fades before my touch

as i penetrate the city
my gondola sweeps her sweet canals
i somehow feel let down
yet richer all the same

reaching out to Paris
arms stretched…
