Marilyn
  JERRY BROWNING

 BROKEN COMPASS

Marilyn

she loves          but, no one nears her

she hates          but, no one fears her

she shouts        but, no one hears her

            “why am i all alone?”

no one sees                  how much she needs

no one comforts          while she bleeds

no one listens              still she pleads

            “why am i all alone?”

she tries                       but, no one warns her

she cries                       but, no one joins her

she dies                       then they all mourn her

            “why………………?”
