Toss Me a Line
  JERRY BROWNING

 ..FOLLOWING SEAS

Toss Me a Line

i always expect
to lose what i love
so i cover my tracks
forgetting
the trail of tears
a true heart
can follow

far away lady
here i am
treading on faith
sinking like sand
in a bottomless
hourglass world

toss me a line
don’t ask me to plead

for i’d burn every bridge
and sink every ship
just to be stranded
on an island
with you
